X-Hive/S1000D Authoring Tool is a Wysiwyg Authoring Tool customization for S1000D schemas. Authoring S1000D data modules can be cumbersome for technical authors and subject matter experts. Especially incidental contributors, that are used to using Word instead of a structured authoring tool based on XML, find it difficult to author S1000D content.

X-Hive developed an S1000D authoring tool based on the Syntext Serna product with many custom dialogs. The authoring tool offers a combination of Structured Authoring as well as Wysiwyg editing in "printed style".

Many custom dialogs help the author to define links, insert images, define preliminary data etc. The X-Hive/S1000D Authoring Tool is available for Windows as well as Unix platforms.
